The Covid-19 Pandemic hit in 2020, shutting down schools worldwide, and we—the founders of the E=MC^2 math club enrichment program—moved to "distance learning." After the end of lockdown, we entered into the 9th grade and realized the huge impact COVID-19 had on education across all levels. Determined to help, we decided to target the foundation of a student's learning journey: elementary school.Â
Over the summer, we got together and crafted plans. We approached their former 6th grade teacher Ms. Cook and proposed our idea. On September 11th, 2022, Math Club officially started as we taught an eager group of 4th to 6th graders in the school's MPR. We soon expanded to North Davis and Pioneer elementaries the next year.
Through our years of experience working in the community and the diverse student body, our curriculum and lessons have evolved to be versatile, capable of catering to EVERYONE, ranging from challenging & advanced to fun & intriguing to the foundational & essentials. We enrich students with both California curriculum standards and our mix of interesting math, fun activities, and engaging builds!

We are all very accomplished students from Davis Senior High School and excel in mathematics and more . . . but our strongest asset is our experience in the community and diverse perspectives we gained.
Still, here's a run-down on our quantifiable skills:
Many of our members are fluent / can have a conversational level in several languages. This helps us cross language barriers like Spanish, Korean, and Chinese that exist in many of our schools we operate in.
All of us have good grades, finished Integrated Mathematics 2 or above, and taken high-level Advanced Placement and / or Honors classes, including AP Physics, AP Statistics, Accelerated Integrated Mathematics 3, and the AP Calculuses.
Some of our members also competed in various mathematics competitions over our academic career. The members who participated in these competitions all placed exceptionally well.
American Mathematics Competition 8, 10, and 12
American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME)
Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS)
To add to our mathematical skills, many of us are experienced in graphic design, video editing, photography, translation, and project management. These various skills all have helped us provide the best experience to students of Math Club!
